What Does 24-Hour Care Actually Look Like?
It is more than having someone on shift
True 24-hour care means someone is awake, trained, and available at 2 AM — not just a phone that forwards to an answering service. Ask how overnight coverage actually works.
Questions worth asking
Is a caregiver awake overnight or on call?
What happens in an emergency?
How are overnight falls or medication needs handled?
How do families receive updates on nights and weekends?
The honest answer
24-hour care is only as good as the people providing it. Ask for specifics — real families always want specifics, and good homes love to give them.
